An introduction to the process of fruit set and the problems of terminology. What are the causes of poor fruit set? How can it be measured and why this is important? How do you know if you have poor fruit set? Why do some varieties always have poorer fruit set than others? A detailed description of the management options for improving fruit set will be presented (e.g. shoot topping, nutrient application, plant hormones) with discussion of their advantages and disadvantages.
