Precision viticulture has many aspects, but is ultimately a tool to help you manage vineyard variability e.g. by selective or variable management which can help save money and/or increase profitability.
Supported by AGWA’s R&D Regional Program, this workshop will cover many aspects of Precision Viticulture including:
- Plant cell density mapping – identifying variation in the vineyard
- Electromagnetic (EM ) surveys
- “Greenseeker” technology
- Precision Viticulture applied to machinery e.g. weed sprayers, recycling sprayers
The speakers – Dan Newsome from Yalumba Wine Cmpany (Coonawarra) and Dr Tony Proffit – Precision Viticulture Australia ( Margaret River) have lots of on-farm experience to share, and will be discussing real examplesand concepts that suit both smaller and larger sites.
There is also the potential to potentially become involved in a collective data collection flight (plant cell density mapping) in December this year.
When: Thursday 4 September 2014, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Where: The Barrel Hall, Tempus Two, Corner of Broke Road & McDonalds Road, Pokolbin, NSW 2320
